What's Happening?
Construction of the new PAC and Band Room is progressing steadily following the completion of asbestos abatement. The abatement process began in the gymnasium after the existing wooden floor was removed. With that work now complete, abatement crews have relocated their equipment to the stage, allowing other trades to take over operations in the
Over the past week, the gym slab has been cut and removed, and thickened footings have been excavated in preparation for concrete early next week. Masonry crews are expected to return soon to begin constructing new walls, which will define the spaces included in Phase 3.
Mechanical, electrical, and plumbing trades are now fully mobilized, with demolition and system rough-ins actively underway. In the coming weeks, these teams will continue working alongside masonry and framing contractors to maintain project momentum!

DID YOU KNOW?
Before we can build the masonry walls for the new band room and PAC, the existing slab needs to be cut out and a thickened slab needs to be repoured to carry the weight. The crew onsite is utilizing a miniature, electric excavator to aid in digging the out under the slab. The electric excavator allows for increased productivity and a safer way of moving the dirt.
