What's Happening?

Work in the new PAC and Band Room has continued steadily over the past couple weeks. The masons have completed the wall separating the PAC and Band Room and have worked their way through the installation of the short masonry walls beneath the Band Room mezzanine. The masonry crew has now shifted its focus to patching and preparing new door openings to receive frames.

Mechanical and electrical have also continued. After wrapping up the stage overhead work early this week, the mechanical contractor has shifted to continuing on the PAC overhead installation. The painter were welcomed back to site this week as they began prepping and painting the ceiling above the stage.

Over the next couple weeks, we will start to see overhead operations wrap up and the site begin to shift more heavily into finishes.

DID YOU KNOW?

Onsite the masons have begun to install steel lintels above the new door openings. Steel lintels are a crucial part of masonry construction because they take the weight from above and transfer it around the openings. Without these lintels, all the weight from the roof, the block above, and any other loads would be bearing on the opening and eventually create and issue with sagging or collapsing.
