Dear RLHS Families,
February was a month to remember as we celebrated the ribbon cutting of our new high school gymnasium together. What a day to commemorate all of the work that has taken place so far! We look forward to next fall when all of our spaces are updated, including the new Performing Arts Center, Band Room, Kitchen, Choir Room, Library, and FCS Room. Thank you for bearing with us as we upgrade our facilities for students to continue learning and growing!
As we head into the exciting month of March, we are looking forward to all of the various opportunities that are available to our students. I am so appreciative of the work of all of our staff members here at RLHS. They truly care about each student’s success -- both academic and personal -- as they navigate their high school years and beyond. Our goal is to provide a school where all students can find a place where they belong, grow in character, and be prepared to hit the ground running with whatever life throws their way in the future. Thank you for partnering with us to make this vision a reality for our students.

OFFICE TRANSITION
Our Construction Project continues to move forward into Phase 3, where our construction crews have headed into the “old gym” to begin the conversion into the new Performing Arts Center and Band room. Beginning on Monday, March 16, our new combined office space will be open.
Morning Drop Off
Students may enter the high school through the new main office entrance or the East entrance off the student parking lot as usual. Parents, please drop any students off at the main entrance as the other doors will be locked to maintain school security. Buses will be dropping students off at the Event Entry on the north side of the building.

With the combining of offices, both Tanya and Jennifer will be able to assist you for any needs you may have.

UWSP MASTER CLASS
Our choir students were joined by Dr. Matthew Markham from the University of Stevens Point. Dr. Markham joined students during their choir hour to provide feedback for individual students that all could hear and benefit from. Students were engaged in the learning from start to finish and picked up some advanced techniques to grow their musical skills. Thank you to Ms. Treu for providing this experience for our students!
UWEC BAND CLINIC
The UWEC Band will be coming to RLHS on Wednesday, March 4th. During this time, the band will perform for both the Middle and High School students before providing a side-by-side clinic where students will get to play their instruments next to elite college players. Thank you to Ms. Hoffland for providing this exciting opportunity for our students!

The music department is buzzing with activity as students are preparing the Solo & Ensemble pieces that will be performed on March 27 at the Phillips Schools.

END OF QUARTER 3
Quarter 3 will end on Friday, March 20th. Please connect with your student to ensure that all of their coursework is complete so that their grades can reflect all of the knowledge they have gained.
ACP
Academic and Career Planning remains at the forefront of our minds here at RLHS. This is a time for students to consider their future goals and determine the action steps that need to be taken now in order to reach those goals. All students turned in their course schedules and anticipated Start College Now plans to Mrs. Rhodes last week. The courses chosen by students will help them prepare for their future by either getting them credits that they need for their future degree or exploring options to determine whether it could be a potential future career.
On March 25th, students will take part in various field trips off site to explore future Academic and Career options. Freshmen will be visiting NTC Phillips location to learn more about the Manufacturing Academy that is available to them Senior year. They will also head to BW Papersystems in Phillips to learn about careers there. Sophomores will be heading to UW Stout to experience a four year college campus feel. Seniors will be setting up individual job shadows for that day. Last year we had one student experience the day with a pilot and another experience at an engineering firm where they are now hired as they attend college. Each of these opportunities helps prepare our students for success as they explore their options for life beyond high school.
