The ceiling in the middle school library has been removed to make way for installation of the new light fixtures.
What’s Happening?
Work on the addition has continued to push forward with the masons making their way from the south wall over to the east where they have started to work on the restroom and concessions area. Along with masonry, underground plumbing has also begun with the goal of wrapping up in the next few weeks to allow the corridor slab to be poured.
The middle school remodel work for the summer has also kicked off. Asbestos abatement has seen a majority of the work completed allowing demolition crews to begin removing CMU and concrete in the locker rooms, along with the new administration and fitness rooms.
The next few weeks will bring more demolition in the middle school and concrete slab preparation in the addition.

Did You Know?
Asbestos abatement is a crucial part of safety during most building remodel projects. During the abatement process, rooms and sometimes entire buildings are turned into negative pressure areas, which turns the entire space into a vacuum. By creating and maintaining the negative pressure, all the harmful asbestos fibers are kept contained until they can be removed safely.
