Facilities of the Rib Lake School District
Our facilities play a vital role in creating safe, efficient, and inspiring environments where students learn, grow, and thrive.
Our Campus
The Rib Lake School District operates a connected three-building campus in a beautiful rural setting. Here's how our facilities serve students and staff:
- Rib Lake Elementary School: Serves students in PreK through 5th grade
- Rib Lake Middle School: Serves students in grades 6–8
- Rib Lake High School: Serves students in grades 9–12
All three buildings are owned and operated by the district and are located on one main campus. Together, they serve around 480 students from seven municipalities across Taylor and Price counties.
In addition to the school buildings, the district also proudly maintains a School Forest, located just five miles north of town, which provides unique outdoor learning experiences for K–12 students.
Facility Improvements & Maintenance
In 2015, our community demonstrated strong support for education by passing a $4 million referendum to invest in school infrastructure. Improvements included:
- New HVAC, plumbing, and electrical systems
- Roof repairs and upgraded building envelopes
- Window replacements
- Installation of a biomass boiler for energy efficiency
To guide and oversee this investment, the Board of Education appointed a Buildings and Grounds Committee, which continues to work on long-term facility planning in collaboration with ICS Consulting, Inc.
Long-Term Planning
As part of our ongoing commitment to building stewardship, the district has developed a 10-Year Capital Improvement Plan. Approved by the Board in December 2015, this plan helps the district:
- Prioritize maintenance and improvements
- Plan for system life cycles and replacement timelines
- Monitor facility conditions and funding impacts
- Identify and quantify future building needs
This forward-looking approach helps us ensure that Rib Lake’s facilities remain strong for future generations of learners.
