The gym floor painting and finishing has been complete. After a two-week cure time, bleacher installation will begin.
What's Happening?
It was a productive couple of weeks for constructions crews while the students were away on winter break. Crews took the opportunity to take over the middle school building and complete the installation of laminate vinyl flooring and room signage. The electricians started changing over some light fixtures in the middle school with the remaining fixtures to be changed on future days without students.
In the addition, the installation of the vinyl wall graphics is set to begin in the next few weeks that will pull everything together for branding. Furniture has also been moved into the new middle and high school office, making the space ready for staff to move in over spring break.
Along with most other spaces wrapping up, the gymnasium is also reaching the finish line. Floor painting and finishing has been completed. Soon the new bleachers will be installed, and the space will be all set for the grand opening.

DID YOU KNOW?
When looking closely at the new gymnasium floor, you might see tiny gaps spaced throughout the flooring. These are called expansion joints. Because the floor is maple, it absorbs and releases a lot of moisture depending on the humidity of the space, making the flooring expand and contract. Without the expansion joints, the swelling and shrinking would create buckling and gaps in the flooring system, making the surface difficult or impossible to use for sports and gym classes.
