I was born in 1976 in Medford, Wisconsin, and I was raised here in Rib Lake, Wisconsin. After graduating from Rib Lake in 1995, I went on to attend Northwestern College (recently renamed the University of Northwestern) in St. Paul, Minnesota. I completed my bachelor's degree in mathematics education in may of 1999. I then married my high school sweetheart, Joelle, in June of 1999. We have three children.
My first teaching and coaching job was in Prentice, Wisconsin, where I taught high school mathematics and coached JV football and baseball. I taught and coached in Prentice for two years before coming back to teach in Rib Lake in 2001. Upon returning to Rib Lake to teach, I went back to school to get a physics certification through UW-River Falls. Here in Rib Lake I have taught all of our mathematics classes, as well as physics. I also coached varsity softball for three years, and I have been coaching JV baseball since 2005.
