The Rib Lake High School Technology Education program consists of a variety of applied, hands-on, lab-based technology classes, balanced by a robust but manageable amount of theory and fundamental instruction in the classroom.
RLHS Technology Education courses fall into one of three career-cluster strands, including Woods Manufacturing/Construction, Manufacturing-METALS, and SMALL ENGINES/POWER MECHANICS.
Introductory classes provide freshmen with exposure to Woods Manufacturing. The Metals I and II classes provide students with sheet metal work and welding experience. In the Advanced Woods and Wood Techniques classes, students design and build more advanced wood projects. In the Small Engines/Power Mechanics classes, students learn basic mechanical skills, troubleshooting and routine maintenance. Every-other year, an electricity course is offered where students learn basic electric theory, circuits and house wiring.
Finally, in Building Construction, students perform a focused construction project, providing them with hands-on experience in the building trades.
