PRIMETIME
In September 2015, Culture of Champions created Primetime: a fun group workout every other Wednesday before school. The 23-26 minute session brings students and staff together for self-paced physical activity. The workout is an AMRAP (As Many Rounds As Possible); there are a number of exercises that you do and repeat in order. With AMRAP’s, you try to do as many “rounds” as you can, or want, for the duration of the workout.
Throughout the school year Primetime has continued to be successful. As many as 67 students and staff members have pulled themselves out of bed extra early to come in and improve their physical fitness. Student athletes have also been diligent about attending the early morning workout sessions even when they have had games and competitions the night before.
In addition to the workout, the participants receive a protein-packed smoothie and have an opportunity to earn a free t-shirt after attending five Primetimes in a row. After the workout is finished, guest speakers from around the community are brought in to give presentations on wellness and healthy choices.
If you have not experienced Primetime yet, come try it out!

EMOM - Every Minute on the Minute |
Every minute, even or odd, perform the given exercises.
Are you a Grasshopper, medium or Wizard? It's up to you!
Getting down with the exercises quicker allows for more rest time until the next round, but it seemed like the minutes starting going faster towards the end! Pretty soon the rest time was non-existent! |

Unity Day 2015
October is recognized as National Bullying Prevention Month. On Unity Day (October 21st) individuals, schools, communities, and businesses wear and/or display orange to take a stand against bullying and show support for those who have been bullied.
Culture of Champions brought attention to this event by inviting everyone to wear orange on Unity Day and some students volunteered to talk to the younger students in RLMS and RLES about what bullying is, the effects of it, and what to do when they see it happen. The high school students that presented had all students from RLES sign a “Bully Free Starts With Me” banner that is displayed down by the District Office.
The group also showed support by wearing orange to the Hawks Football Game that was played at Rib Lake that Friday. Two group members took a couple of minutes during half time to talk about Unity Day and gave out information on bullying. Anyone who wore orange to the game was given free orange bead necklaces and glow sticks to wear.

The Great Pumpkin Workout
Before their three day weekend over Halloween, over 20 students got up early before school and attended the annual Great Pumpkin Workout. Students participated with a partner where they had to keep their “pumpkin” (a medicine ball,) off of the ground for the whole workout.
This difficult workout challenged students to push themselves and got them into the Halloween spirit!

CODE RED Games
Culture of Champions wants to focus on school spirit and getting students, staff, and other community members involved in supporting all Rib Lake athletic teams. That’s why the members of this group created “CODE RED” events for the athletes’ competitions. On select game days group members put together special events and a theme is picked for fans so they can all dress up. Students and staff usually wear their outfits to school and then other community members join in for the game.
These have been the CODE RED’s so far this year:
Hawks Football- Community members from both Rib Lake and Prentice gathered before the football game at RL for a parking lot tailgate party. Culture of Champions sold hot dogs, chips, and baked goods. There was bean bags, music, and plenty of room to hang out before the big game.
Cross Country- Students dressed up in all neon and headed over to the trail to support and cheer on the Hawks Cross Country team at their meet in Rib Lake.
Volleyball- For the girl’s last home game, fans dressed up in all of their red, white, and blue for the USA theme. Group members sold patriotic bandanas during lunch periods and at the game!
Boy’s Basketball- For their game against Prentice, students wore Hawaiian outfits to school and the game. Leis were sold to fans at the game and given out to young kids at the end. All of the grass skirts and flip flops gave good luck to the Redmen as they beat their rivals!
Basketball Double Header Against Chequamegon- A day before Winter Break, students dressed up in their ugly Christmas sweaters and Santa hats for school and the double header that night. Not only did they get to bring some holiday spirit to the game, but they got to spent a couple hours of the school day playing snow football, baking cookies, hanging out in the gym, and competing for a class ice cream party. Congrats to the Seniors on their win!

Elementary Back to School Extravaganza
In September, RLES held a “Back to School Extravaganza” for the students to welcome them back for the 2015-2016 school year. Some members of Culture of Champions got the chance to go over to the school and spend time playing games with the elementary students. Among many other things, they played kickball, ran around on the playground, and took turns flying down the giant slip and slide that a couple of the teachers put together. It sure was a great way to start off the school year!
